AstralPool Solo Chlorinators: FAQs

The AstralPool Solo is Astral’s new entry-level salt chlorinator – simple to use, but packed with smart features. It has a bright 5″ touchscreen, app control through FluidraPool, and it can run your Astral variable speed pump, so your pool looks after itself.

It comes in four sizes – 18, 25, 35 and 45 grams per hour, to suit pools up to 150,000 litres, and it’s Australian designed and made.

What’s the difference between the Solo and the Echo?

The Solo is the entry-level model and the Echo is the mid-tier model. The Echo has everything the Solo has, plus acid dosing, heater control and Halo Lite pool light control.

Is the Solo good for a small pool?

Yes. The output can be capped at 7 or 12 grams, so small and plunge pools aren’t over-chlorinated. Low mode also drops output to 10% when the pool cover is on.

Can the Solo control my pump?

Yes. It connects to Astral XT variable speed pumps (P320 and P520) by Bluetooth, so you can set low, medium and high speeds from the Solo or the app.

Can I control it from my phone?

Yes. The Solo has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so you can check and adjust your pool through the FluidraPool app.

What does Cold Water Protect do?

When the water gets colder, the Solo turns its output down so the cell isn’t working harder than it needs to. This helps the cell last longer, which saves you money.

Is it replacing my old Astral chlorinator?

Astral has discontinued the Viron and EQ chlorinators, and the VX is being phased out. The Solo and Echo are their replacements. Send us a photo of your current chlorinator and we’ll let you know what’s involved in swapping it over.

What size Solo do I need?

It depends on your pool size and how much sun and use it gets. The size table above is a good guide, or give us your pool measurements and we’ll recommend the right one.

What salt level does it need?

Astral recommends 4,000 ppm. The salt ring on the screen is a guide only, so it’s worth testing your salt level properly – we test water for free in store.

What warranty does it come with?

The Solo comes with a 4 year warranty on the power pack and 3 years on the cell (electrode).
