Pool covers and blankets in Perth

Best Price Pool Equipment supplies Daisy solar pool covers and rollers direct from Daisy in Welshpool, with delivery across Perth and WA. A pool cover cuts evaporation, keeps heat in and keeps leaves out. Measure your pool and we will quote your cover.

A pool cover, also called a pool blanket, floats on the water and forms a barrier between the pool and the air. If you are looking for reliable pool blankets in Perth, that barrier does a serious amount of work in our hot, dry conditions.

Around 45,000 litres a year. That is how much water Water Corporation says an uncovered pool loses to evaporation. It also says a pool cover can cut water use by up to 250 litres a day in summer.

A pool cover helps you:

  • Cut water lost to evaporation, so you top up less.
  • Hold heat in the pool, especially overnight.
  • Lose fewer chemicals to evaporation and top-ups.
  • Keep leaves, insects and dirt out.
  • Spend less time cleaning.
  • Get more from your pool heater.

Cover thickness is measured in microns. We stock Daisy solar covers in 250, 400 and 525 micron. A thicker cover lasts longer in the water before it starts to break down, so for most Perth pools the 525 micron range is the best value over the life of the cover.
The maker matters too. Daisy has been making pool covers in Australia for decades and has a long-standing reputation in Perth for covers that hold up season after season. That is why we are a registered Daisy dealer.

Every Daisy solar cover uses Daisy’s UltraDome™ bubble, which keeps the bubble wall an even thickness rather than stretching it thin at the top. Even walls mean fewer weak spots. The 525 micron range is the most popular.
  • 525B Blue (525 micron, translucent blue). The classic Daisy solar cover and the most popular choice for outdoor Perth pools.
  • 525TB Titanium Blue (525 micron, titanium blue). Daisy’s Titanium range, built for heat retention and durability.
  • 525TG Titanium Green (525 micron, titanium green). The Titanium range in a green that sits quietly against a garden.
  • 525TC Titanium Cool (525 micron, titanium silver). Non-heating. For pools that already run warm but still need to stop evaporation.
  • 400B Blue (400 micron, translucent blue). A mid-range option balancing cost and lifespan.
  • 250B Blue (250 micron, translucent blue). The entry-level solar cover for smaller budgets.

For most pools, yes. A large cover is heavy and awkward when wet. A roller makes it quick to take off and put back on, and protects the cover when it is off the pool.

The best pool cover is the one you actually use. If taking it off is a chore, it stays off. Choose your roller at the same time as your cover.

We supply Daisy stationary, mobile, below ground, under bench and electric rollers. See the Daisy pool roller range.

Other Daisy covers we supply
  • ThermoTech foam covers for indoor pools or pools that get little direct sun.
  • WinterKleen leaf covers, mesh covers that keep leaves out over the cooler months.
  • Pump and filter enclosures to protect and hide your equipment.

You need a tape measure and a few minutes. We use your measurements to work out the size and price of your cover.

Watch Daisy’s video: how to measure the size of your pool

  • Measure the inside wall of the pool at water level, not the outside of the coping or paving.
  • Measure in metres, to the nearest centimetre (for example 8.25 m).
  • Take the longest length (B) and the widest width (A).
  • For any shaped pool, imagine a rectangle drawn around it and measure that rectangle.

Refer to the five measuring diagrams for rectangular pools, end steps, freeform shapes, side steps, and separate spas.

Send us your exact pool measurements. Daisy always makes covers at least 30 cm longer and 15 cm wider than the pool to allow for an upturn at the edges and for shrinkage. We add that allowance when we quote, so do not add any extra yourself.

Your cover arrives oversize and is trimmed to your pool’s shape. You have three options:

  1. Trim it yourself. Lay the cover bubbles down on the water and push out any trapped air. With someone holding it in place, trim the edge with sharp household scissors so 50 to 75 mm rises up the pool wall. If you want to cut it back to the waterline, wait two to three weeks after the first cut so it can settle. Watch Daisy’s installation video.
  2. Factory pre-cut. If your pool is a common brand and model, for a fee Daisy can cut the cover to shape at the factory so it arrives ready to use.
  3. Cut on site. We can quote for Daisy to come out and cut the cover to fit your pool.

Common pool cover questions

Bubbles down, touching the water. The flat side faces up.

Thickness and care decide it. A thicker cover holds up longer in the water, and a cover that is rolled onto a roller and kept under its protective over-cover when off the pool lasts far longer than one left lying in the sun. High chlorine levels also shorten a cover’s life.

Ask us in store in Claremont or email us and we can talk you through how long each thickness typically lasts in Perth conditions.

  • Roll it onto the roller and put the over-cover on every time it comes off the pool.
  • Never leave it lying on the lawn, paving or any hot surface.
  • Hose both sides before storing it for a long period.
  • Keep your water balanced and test it regularly. Pool chemistry that runs high breaks a cover down faster.
  • Follow Daisy’s care instructions that come with your cover.

No. Take the cover off before you super chlorinate and follow Daisy’s instructions on when it can go back on. Chemicals concentrated under a cover damage it quickly.

No. A floating solar pool cover is not a safety barrier and must never be relied on to stop a child or anyone else getting into the water. Never swim under a pool cover. Your compliant pool fence is still essential.

Please feel welcome to also email us a diagram along with the answers below

Using the how to measure diagram, please provide the size of your pool in metres, please provide Pool Width (A) and Pool Length (B) in metres
Please include total length (B) in metres and total width (A) in metres if you have not listed it below the diagram
Does your pool have a step? Please note if your step is at the end of the pool and not on the side, you need to include it in the overall length of the pool as they cannot add to the length of the blanket for a step, only the width*
If your pool has a step is it on the RHS or LHS when looking from the shallow end of the pool?
What cover shall we quote you on? Note the thickest 525 micron covers do last longer*
If you need a quote on a roller, which roller shall we quote? If you choose one that does not suit the size of your pool, we will quote the closest option.*

If you already have a roller, do you need the attachment kit (refit kit) to reattach your new blanket to your existing roller? Please note if you are ordering a roller it will come with an attachment kit included*
If you already have a roller, do you need an over cover to protect the blanket once rolled up. You will likely already have one, but some customers find it has worn out so they need a new one to protect their new blanket. If you need an over cover we need to know the length of the roller tube in metres. Please note if you are ordering a roller it will come with an over cover included.*
