Portapacs are centrifugal spa pool pumps with a built in electric heating element operated by an air switch. The Portapac heats and circulates water through the spa jets.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Waterco Portapac Demand 10amp? The Portapac Demand is a spa pump with a heater built in, made for portable spa pools. It pushes water through your spa jets and heats it at the same time, so you don’t need a separate heater or control panel. You turn it on and off with an air switch.

Will it replace my old Onga 4352 spa pump? Yes. The Portapac can replace the Onga 4352 series pumps, though you may need some minor plumbing changes. If you’re not sure, send us a photo of your current pump and we can let you know what’s involved.

How hot will it heat my spa? You can set the water anywhere between 20°C and 40°C. In auto mode, the Portapac holds your spa at the temperature you’ve set, so it’s ready when you want to use it.

What size spa does it suit? The 10amp model has a 1.0hp pump and a 1.6kW heater. It suits spas with 4 to 6 jets.

What’s the difference between the 10amp and 15amp Portapac? The 15amp Portapac Demand Elite has a bigger 1.5hp pump and a stronger 2.4kW heater, and suits spas with 6 to 8 jets. That said, more isn’t always better. For a smaller spa, the 10amp model is usually the right fit.

Can I run an air blower with it? Yes. The Portapac has a blower outlet that runs a blower of up to 1.2kW.

Is there a touchpad version? Waterco no longer makes the touchpad models. The current Portapac Demand uses an air switch.
